What this policy covers

This policy covers World Quiz on the web, iPhone, and iPad. World Quiz is a geography game with local play, accounts, rankings, profiles, multiplayer matches, and optional player communication.

Information we process

We process an account or anonymous-user identifier, the player name and profile choices you provide, gameplay history, scores, achievements, match events, challenge and lobby state, and safety actions needed to operate multiplayer features. If you use email, Google, or Apple sign-in, the authentication provider may supply an email address and basic account metadata. Other players never receive your email address.

World Quiz processes the preset quick-chat messages you send and related reports or blocks. Push notifications, when enabled, require a device push token. Hosting and authentication providers may process technical request data such as IP address, device or browser type, timestamps, and service diagnostics.

Local device data

The web app uses browser storage. The native app uses an on-device database for active games, offline caches, and results waiting to sync. Native authentication sessions are protected by the iOS Keychain. Clearing browser data or deleting the app can remove some local data; Keychain behavior is controlled by iOS.

How information is used

Information is used to run and restore games, authenticate players, synchronize progression, calculate rankings and achievements, show profiles according to their visibility settings, secure multiplayer commands, prevent abuse, investigate reports, and improve service reliability. World Quiz does not sell personal information, serve behaviorally targeted ads, or track players across other companies' apps and websites.

Public information

A player name, public profile, selected achievements, and ranking entries can be visible to other players. You can make supported parts of your profile private and choose whether recent results are shown. Email addresses, authentication tokens, and private safety records are not public.

Service providers

World Quiz uses Supabase for authentication, database, realtime, and server functions, and Vercel for web hosting and basic product analytics. Apple and Google process information when you choose their sign-in or notification services. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.

Retention and deletion

Account and gameplay data is retained while the account is active and as needed for game integrity, security, legal obligations, and reliable backups. Signed-in players can permanently delete their World Quiz account from the native app. Deletion removes the auth account and associated profile, progression, results, achievements, and match data linked through the account. Limited security records may be retained where required to prevent fraud or comply with law. Local data can be removed through device or browser controls.

Your choices

You can play local modes without linking a permanent account, decline push notifications, change supported profile visibility choices, sign out, block players where communication is available, and delete your account. Children

World Quiz is not directed to children under 13 and is not offered in Apple's Kids Category. Do not provide personal information in a player name or message.

Changes

Material changes will be posted here with a new update date. We may also provide an in-app notice when a change affects account or multiplayer data practices.
